Sébastien Haller Withdraws from CAN 2025 Qualifiers Due to Injury

Sébastien Haller, the Ivorian striker for Leganés, will miss the upcoming 3rd and 4th rounds of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. The Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) announced that Haller sustained a hip injury during Leganés' La Liga match against Valencia on October 4, 2024. As a result, the player will be sidelined for ten days.

In response, national team coach Emerse Faé has called up Guy Stéphane Bédi from FC San Pedro as Haller’s replacement for the FIFA international window, set to run from October 7 to 15, 2024.

Haller's absence is a blow to Côte d'Ivoire's squad, but Bédi’s inclusion brings a new opportunity for the Elephants to showcase local talent as they continue their journey to secure a spot in the CAN 2025 tournament in Morocco.
