The Vice President of the Republic, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, expressed his satisfaction with the 2023 annual activity report of the General State Inspectorate (IGE), which highlighted a significant improvement compared to 2022, particularly in the management of public funds and the operational performance of services.
The report, which includes those of other administrative control bodies such as the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF), Treasury, Customs, Taxes, Budget, and the General Inspections of Ministries, was officially handed over on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan Plateau to Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, representing President Alassane Ouattara. He was accompanied by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé and several government members.
"On behalf of the President of the Republic, I commend the constant and remarkable work of all the administrative control structures, coordinated by Mr. State Inspector General. Your efforts strengthen the efficiency of our administration and, above all, optimize the impact of public policies on the daily lives of users of various administrations, particularly our citizens," said the Vice President.
Tiémoko Meyliet Koné emphasized that the report reflects progress towards a more responsible and efficient governance culture, as wished by the President of the Republic.
Regarding persistent weaknesses identified, including some managerial practices in the management of public finances, he announced that “the relevant administrative officials will be promptly called to intensify their efforts to correct the identified shortcomings.”
In response to the recommendations of the report presented by the State Inspector General, Ahoua N'Doli Théophile, the Vice President confirmed that administrative measures are already in progress to improve the control of administrative structures and implement the recommendations from inspection and audit missions. “I assure you that clear instructions have been given by His Excellency, the President of the Republic, to finalize all measures related to the concerned structures to improve their functioning as you have requested,” he added.
According to Ahoua N'Doli Théophile, the report is divided into four parts: the activities carried out by the IGE, the IGF, and other specialized financial administration bodies (Treasury, Customs, Taxes, and Budget), the activities conducted by the General Inspections of Ministries, and finally, the evaluation of the functioning and performance of public services.
