2025 Cashew and Cashew Nut Campaign: Projected Production to Reach 1.15 Million Tons, Representing a 20% Increase from 2024

The 2025 cashew nut and cashew campaign in Côte d'Ivoire is projected to produce 1.15 million tons, marking a 20% increase compared to the 2024 campaign. This information was shared by the Minister of State and Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, during the closing of the first edition of the National Cashew and Cashew Nut Producer Days (JNPCA) on January 18, 2025, in Abidjan.

Minister Adjoumani further emphasized that a supply of 400,000 tons is expected for local processors, representing a growth of approximately 16% compared to the 2024 campaign.

He expressed his gratitude to President Alassane Ouattara for his leadership, which continues to improve the living conditions of the population, particularly the cashew producers.

The Minister recalled that the 2024 cashew commercialization campaign had recorded a production of 944,673 tons, which was slightly more than 94% of the revised forecast of 1 million tons. Regarding exports, 600,645 tons of raw cashew nuts were exported in 2024, compared to 849,250 tons in 2023. The volume of locally processed raw cashew nuts also continued to grow, reaching 344,000 tons during the same period.

According to Minister Adjoumani, these achievements strengthen Côte d'Ivoire's position as the world’s third-largest processor of cashew nuts and the second-largest supplier of cashew kernels globally.

To further support the development of the local industry, the period from January 24 to March 15, 2025, will be exclusively dedicated to local processors. This measure aims to give local processors priority access to raw cashew nuts before they are made available for export.
