AfDB President Holds Talks with African Guarantee Institutions on Financial Architecture Transformation

On Friday in Abidjan, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, Sidi Ould Tah, met with leaders of African guarantee institutions to discuss the transformation of Africa’s financial architecture. The high-level meeting focused on reviewing existing guarantee mechanisms and assessing the feasibility of consolidating and expanding Africa’s credit guarantee capacity.

As part of his strategic development vision centered on the “Four Cardinal Points,” President Ould Tah urged African guarantee institutions to operate in a unified, coordinated, and synergistic manner to unlock large-scale capital for Africa’s development. As custodians of the continent’s guarantee funds, institutions such as FAGACE, AGF, FSA, and ATIDI play a key role in strengthening Africa’s financial sovereignty.

The meeting, held at the AfDB Group headquarters, brought together key sector stakeholders and leaders of major African guarantee agencies: Ngueto Tiraina Yambaye, Director General of the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE); Felix Bikpo, Chairman of the Board of the African Guarantee Fund (AGF), along with its Director General Jules Ngankam; Abdourahmane Diallo, Director General of the African Solidarity Fund (FSA); and Manuel Moses, Director General of the African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI).
