Burkina Faso – Côte d’Ivoire: 2nd Largest Foreign Investor
According to SikaFinance, a WAEMU-based financial news platform, Burkina Faso’s foreign direct investment (FDI) stock reached 2,458.9 billion CFA francs (approximately USD 4.4 billion) by the end of 2023, marking a 2.8% increase from 2,392.5 billion CFA francs in 2022.
Among all foreign investors in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire now ranks as the second largest, just behind Canada and ahead of Russia. This achievement highlights the growing influence of South-South investments within the West African region and strengthens Côte d’Ivoire’s economic footprint across borders.
