Côte d’Ivoire: AGL Exports 16,000 Tons of Cocoa via the Port of San Pedro

AGL Côte d’Ivoire carried out, from February 26 to March 6, 2026, through its San Pedro agency, an export operation of more than 16,000 tons of cocoa beans to the United States. Conducted in conventional mode, the operation involved loading cocoa bags onto a vessel chartered by Unicargo, using slings grouping 25 bags of 65 kilograms each, thereby optimizing loading and unloading rates.

With a total volume of 16,300 tons handled during a single call at the Port of San Pedro, this marks an unprecedented performance for AGL Côte d’Ivoire. The operation highlights the company’s ability to support the Ivorian cocoa sector, at a time when Côte d’Ivoire, the world’s leading cocoa producer, holds a central position in international markets.

This achievement was made possible through an integrated logistics organization, from transit operations to the mobilization of two warehouse holds totaling 8,400 m² at the Port of San Pedro. It also involved the deployment of appropriate technical resources, including flatbed trucks, forklifts, and spreader beams. Nearly 180 people were mobilized, including around 30 AGL staff members and approximately 150 dockworkers, as part of a rigorous planning process initiated three weeks before the vessel’s arrival. Optimized flow management enabled a significant portion of the vessel to be handled just-in-time, in strict compliance with quality, safety, and security standards.

“This operation represents a major milestone for AGL Côte d’Ivoire and fully demonstrates our ability to handle large-scale strategic flows in support of the competitiveness of Ivorian agricultural sectors. It reflects the commitment of our teams and the strength of our logistics solutions. Through this achievement, we reaffirm our ambition to be a trusted partner for economic stakeholders by actively contributing to the promotion of Ivorian cocoa on global markets,” said Asta-Rosa Cissé, Managing Director of AGL Côte d’Ivoire.

This operation confirms the company’s capacity to manage complex, large-scale logistics projects and strengthens its position as a key partner in the development of Ivorian agricultural exports.
