Cross-Border and Agricultural Zones Development Program Phase 2 (PDZTA-2): AfDB Provides Financing of 75.867 Billion FCFA
The Council adopted a decree ratifying a loan agreement totaling 115,660,000 Euros, equivalent to 75.867 billion FCFA, concluded on September 15, 2025, between the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Côte d’Ivoire to finance the Cross-Border and Agricultural Zones Development Program – Phase 2 (PDZTA-2).
This information was provided by the Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson during the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau.
The program includes integrated road and bridge development as well as the rehabilitation or construction of basic social infrastructure.
The roads and bridges component plans for the construction of 302.5 km of roads, a 400-meter linear bridge over the Volta Noire River, the development and paving of 33 km of urban roads, and the development of 103 km of rural tracks.
The basic infrastructure component involves the rehabilitation of 13 school facilities, including the construction of 10,400 meters of fencing and the provision of 3,120 school desks, the rehabilitation of six health facilities, including 4,800 meters of fencing, the provision of three medical equipment kits and four fully equipped ambulances, as well as the rehabilitation of 46 boreholes and the acquisition of 33 agricultural product processing units.
