Public Finances: Finance Inspectors, Verification Inspectors, Consultants, and Auditors Trained in Public Policy Evaluation Methodology
From Monday, October 28, to Friday, November 8, 2024, Finance Inspectors, Verification Inspectors, Consultants, and Auditors from the General Inspectorate of Finances (IGF) in Côte d'Ivoire participated in a training session on public policy evaluation in Abidjan.
This training is part of the 2022-2024 Public Finance Reform Master Plan (SDRFP), adopted by the Ivorian government in June 2022, under its fifth pillar, “Strengthening the control, audit, and evaluation of public financial management.” The objective is to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge in planning and conducting evaluations within the context of public administration and development.
Participants will be better positioned to conduct high-quality evaluations that support informed decision-making, enhancing the relevance, coherence, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and equity of interventions in development or public administration contexts.
Marie Hélène Sarassoro Fadiga, Inspector General of Finances, emphasized that this training session will provide financial actors with the necessary tools to understand the methodology for evaluating public programs and policies. “I hope that the knowledge and techniques acquired through various case studies will be highly beneficial for your public policy evaluation missions. I encourage you to continue refining your expertise in this field, which is a valuable tool for decision-making,” she concluded.
