Improving Development Project Performance: Grand-Bassam Hosts Workshop to Define and Validate Monitoring Methods for World Bank-Funded Projects

Grand-Bassam, September 18, 2024 - A workshop aimed at defining and validating performance monitoring methods for World Bank-funded projects is being held in Grand-Bassam from Wednesday, September 18 to Saturday, September 21, 2024.

The goal of the workshop is to establish consensus-driven methods, tools, and frameworks to ensure the optimal performance of these projects. Given the significance of the expected outcomes, Koffi Georges Bolamo, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister and coordinator of the Priority Projects Implementation Support Unit (UA2P), called for strong collaboration among participants during his address. He emphasized the need for this activity to serve as a catalyst for accelerating the implementation of development projects and programs financed by the World Bank.

To ensure the success of the discussions, four working groups have been set up. With support from the KPMG consulting firm, which is facilitating the workshop, they will produce a final report that will be presented to the Prime Minister and the World Bank Operations Directorate during the closing ceremony on Saturday, September 21.

The official opening ceremony of the workshop is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, under the effective presidency of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in improving the effectiveness and impact of the development projects across Côte d'Ivoire, ensuring that funds are utilized efficiently and in alignment with the nation’s strategic objectives.
