Morocco: Ivorian Business Leaders Attend Africa Investment Forum in Rabat
The General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI) participated in the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Rabat from November 26 to 28, 2025.
The AIF is an annual platform dedicated to mobilizing capital and accelerating financing for major development projects across Africa.
CGECI President Ahmed Cissé led a delegation that included his Special Advisor Eric Kacou, Deputy Executive Director Félix Yénan, and Presidents of business associations from the Alliance of Francophone Employers.
The first day, marked by strong participation from delegations worldwide, featured an inaugural speech by AfDB President Sidi Ould TAH. The subsequent ministerial panel included Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Economy, Planning, and Development, Nialé Kaba. High-level discussions focused on the challenges of Africa’s economic transformation and the importance of increased capital mobilization to accelerate major projects on the continent.
On the second day, a strategic meeting took place between African business leaders and AfDB President Sidi Ould TAH, along with senior officials overseeing the private sector. Building on discussions initiated during the CGECI Academy in Abidjan, the meeting advanced plans for a formal consultation framework between AfDB and African business associations, with CGECI serving as the focal point.
In parallel, President Ahmed Cissé and CGECI participants attended several boardroom sessions, including one focused on a project by the Ivorian Refining Company (SIR), a CGECI member. This highlighted the Ivorian business community’s commitment to supporting initiatives that drive economic growth in Côte d’Ivoire.
