SARA 2025: Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé Officially Launches the 7th Edition Scheduled for May 23 to June 1

Prime Minister Dr. Beugré Mambé officially launched the preparatory work for the 7th edition of the International Agriculture and Livestock Resources Exhibition of Abidjan (SARA), which will take place from May 23 to June 1, 2025, at the Abidjan Exhibition Park. This year’s theme is "What Agro-food Transformation Systems for Food Sovereignty in Africa?".

The launch event took place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan.

"SARA has, over the years, become an unmissable event for all agricultural stakeholders. It is much more than an exhibition; it serves as a privileged platform to find sustainable and innovative solutions. Today, SARA has become a true catalyst for our ambition to make agriculture the engine of our economic growth and the pillar of our food security," said Robert Beugré Mambé.

For him, agriculture is the largest employment sector for the future of Côte d'Ivoire. Beyond that, there are many opportunities offered by each agricultural product.

"The President of the Republic asked me to set up, together with the Minister of State in charge of Agriculture, a team (which is already in place) to help us find the by-products for each agricultural product that we are unaware of. This will contribute to multiplying the positive effects of our agriculture," he explained.

According to him, SARA, as a place of conviviality and opportunity for meetings between business operators, complementarity, and solidarity, will demonstrate the opportunity to highlight the nature, scale, and quality of our agricultural production, the structure of the seed industry, and related yields to support competitiveness, appropriate cultural methods, and self-defense mechanisms against climate change. "In this context, SARA should be an opportunity to showcase the performance of our agriculture, livestock, environment, and our waters and forests."

It will certainly be the place to demonstrate that Ivorian agriculture is now a 4.0 agriculture as it relies on artificial intelligence and circular economy farming. This provides an opportunity for IT specialists and start-ups to manufacture agricultural drones.

The main organizer of SARA, Minister of State and Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, stated that SARA, established in 1997, is now considered the largest agricultural event in West Africa.

He reminded attendees that the 6th edition of SARA in 2023 saw 862 exhibitors from various sectors and more than 400,000 visitors. The business meetings organized led to agreements and contracts worth a total of 403 billion FCFA, a 69.3% increase from the 238 billion FCFA signed in 2019.

SARA, co-organized by the Ministry of Animal and Fishery Resources and the Ministry of Environment, will have China as the guest of honor, a country renowned for its expertise in agriculture (rice, wheat, potatoes, sorghum, peanuts, pork, fish, etc.) and its rural development model.
