Challenges to Youth and Women's Employability in the UEMOA Region Highlighted by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé
Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training, and Apprenticeship, Koffi N'Guessan, received accolades from Mamadu Serifo Jaquite, the Commissioner for Human Development at UEMOA, for his adept handling of significant issues related to sub-regional vocational training and employment development strategies. Jaquite praised N'Guessan's management skills and his capacity to effectively address these critical areas.
The recognition occurred during the opening of the 15th Conference of Ministers responsible for Employment and Vocational Training from UEMOA countries, held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. The conference's theme was "Quality Systems in Vocational Training: What Implementation Strategy for Better Employability of Youth and Women in the UEMOA Space?"
In his remarks, Jaquite emphasized the importance of N'Guessan's leadership and called for continued collaboration among member states to prioritize employment and training initiatives. He noted N'Guessan's recent contributions, including the decree adopting the Certificate of Qualification for Trades (CQM) and the establishment of key programs such as the Talent Academy and the Second Chance School, aimed at revitalizing Côte d’Ivoire's technical and vocational education system.
Jaquite commended N'Guessan's impressive track record, highlighting his leadership roles at the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) and the Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INP-HB), which have earned recognition not only in Côte d’Ivoire but throughout the UEMOA region.
The conference was marked by its successful organization under N'Guessan’s leadership, reflecting the commitment to enhance vocational training and employment opportunities across the UEMOA space.
