Port of Amsterdam Engages with Ivorian Prime Minister's Office on Sustainable Cocoa Strategy
Last Friday, the Embassy of the Netherlands, represented by Biljana Dabo, Economic Cooperation Advisor, hosted a delegation from the Port of Amsterdam led by Jaïr de Paauw, Cocoa Commercial Manager, and Marcel Stappers, Commercial Director for West Africa. They were accompanied by Joel Amani KOUAME, MBA, the focal point for the public investment bank, Invest International, for a meeting with Georges Koffi Bolamo, CFA, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire.
During this meeting, the delegation discussed the national strategy for sustainable cocoa and explored potential collaboration with the Port of Amsterdam. This engagement signifies a commitment to enhancing sustainable practices in the cocoa sector, aligning with global efforts to promote environmentally responsible cocoa production.
The discussions highlighted the importance of cooperation between Ivorian authorities and international partners to ensure the sustainability of cocoa production, which is vital for the country's economy.
