Structural Transformation of the Economy: Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé Urges Private Sector Engagement

Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who also serves as the Minister of Sports and Living Environment, has called on private sector stakeholders to engage more actively alongside the Ivorian government in the industrialization of the country’s economy. He made this statement on Thursday, October 31, 2024, during the closing ceremony of the forum titled "Finance Takes Action."

“The issue of transforming the value chain is at the heart of our entire industrialization policy. Our private sector, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), must be equipped to carry the government’s ambitions through strengthened partnerships between the state and the private sector,” emphasized the Prime Minister.

In his remarks, Mambé expressed satisfaction with the organization of the forum, noting that it aligns with the government's ambitions. He highlighted the Ivorian government's efforts to support SMEs, including the establishment of the One-Stop Shop for SME Development (GUDE-PME), the Economic Program for Innovation and Business Transformation (PEPITE), and the Côte d'Ivoire Deposit and Consignment Fund (CDC-CI Capital). “Significant reforms have been implemented to improve the business climate,” he stated, urging SMEs to “seize the opportunities” presented by this environment and these reforms.

It is worth noting that the "Finance Takes Action" forum is organized by the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d'Ivoire (CGECI) and Entrepreneurial Solutions Partners (ESPartners). The forum aims to sustainably transform the private sector by providing concrete solutions to the financing challenges faced by businesses, with a particular focus on SMEs. This year's event marks its 7th edition, themed “Financing SMEs: Facing Current and Future Challenges.”
