Strengthening Ivorian-Emirati Partnership: A Memorandum of Understanding to Achieve Strategic Ambitions

Côte d’Ivoire and the United Arab Emirates have taken a major step forward in their bilateral cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding at the Prime Minister’s Office in Abidjan-Plateau. The formal ceremony was presided over by the Prime Minister and Minister of Sports and Living Environment, Mr. Robert Beugré Mambé, in the presence of numerous economic and diplomatic stakeholders.

This memorandum reflects the shared determination of both nations to strengthen ties in key sectors such as agro-industry, tourism, energy, information and communication technology, and artificial intelligence, as well as in strategic areas like mining, health, culture, sports, and security.

A Partnership Focused on Action

In his address, Prime Minister Mambé emphasized the importance of turning ambition into tangible results. He highlighted the need for clear political will, well-defined goals, a structured work plan, and regular follow-up meetings. “We must now move from reflection to action,” he stated.

UAE Commitment to Sustainable Cooperation

The Emirati delegation, led by Mr. Humaid Bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the United Arab Emirates, reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in Côte d’Ivoire as a strategic partner in West Africa. He also announced the upcoming organization of a trade mission to welcome a delegation of Ivorian investors to the UAE.

Promising Economic Outlook

Faman Touré, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire, hailed the signing of the memorandum as a key opportunity to attract more foreign direct investment. According to him, this initiative opens up win-win cooperation prospects between the private sectors of both countries.

This partnership is part of Côte d’Ivoire’s ongoing economic diversification strategy and aligns with the United Arab Emirates’ goal of expanding its economic presence across the African continent.
