Jean-Louis Billon, a candidate in the October 2025 presidential election, concluded his tour in the South-East on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Adzopé, claiming to be leading the race.
In front of an audience made up of religious leaders and traditional chiefs, he stated: “I am leading the race so that I can be the first to win on the evening of October 25, thanks to your support.”
The candidate Billon presented his modern political vision, focused on entrepreneurship, performance, and empowering youth and women. He strongly advocated for a rejuvenation of the ruling class and for regional industrialization, citing the Mé region as an example:
“We must trust the youth. The ruling class needs to be rejuvenated. The Mé must be developed, and this must go through industrialization,” he said.
He also emphasized the concept of economic nationalism, expressing a desire for Ivorians to be prioritized and economically empowered in their own country:
“We want to ensure that Ivorians are privileged in their own land and made economically strong. I stand for economic nationalism,” he said.
Continuing his speech, Jean-Louis Billon stressed the importance of transparency, the courage to speak out against wrongdoing, and the rejection of corruption. He ended with a powerful message: if “Plan A” has failed, “Plan B is Billon.”
Several local figures voiced their support for the candidate. Valérie Yapo, a notable figure from the Mé, called on the population to give strong sponsorship to Jean-Louis Billon, whom she described as the “true political heir of Henri Konan Bédié.”
She criticized opportunistic politicians and highlighted Billon’s concrete actions, insisting:
“Do not give your sponsorships to adventurers, but to those who embody the values of the Côte d'Ivoire of tomorrow. When Plan A has failed, we implement Plan B and Plan B is Billon.”
Kouassi Konan, spokesperson for the youth of Azopé, urged the candidate to address the need for opportunities for young people, particularly access to internships and support for entrepreneurship, expressing their willingness to actively contribute to national development.
Finally, Professor Koné Nafigué, spokeswoman for the women, praised Jean-Louis Billon's vision and called on women to mobilize for their dignity and empowerment, seeing in him an agent of change and a figure of hope for Côte d’Ivoire’s future.
