Côte d’Ivoire: Sol Bamba Passes Away

A tragic loss for Ivorian and African football as Sol Bamba passed away this Saturday at the age of 39. Recently appointed as the head coach of Adanaspor in the Turkish Second Division, the 39-year-old football icon suffered a sudden collapse before his team’s match against Manisa (0-0) on Friday, which was supposed to be the fourth official match of his coaching career. Rushed to the hospital, Bamba passed away on Saturday, as confirmed by his club. The former Ivorian international had been battling lymphatic cancer, diagnosed in January 2021.
