FIFA World Rankings: Côte d’Ivoire Remains 7th in Africa and 42nd Worldwide

The Ivorian national football team, reigning African champions, remains seventh in Africa and 42nd worldwide in the FIFA World Rankings published on Monday, December 22, 2025, and consulted by Abidjan.net.

The Elephants are ranked seventh on the African continent, ahead of Mali, which occupies eighth place, and behind Tunisia in sixth position. They also trail Nigeria, ranked fifth, Egypt in fourth place, Algeria in third position, Senegal in second place and Morocco, which leads the African ranking.

At the global level, the top five is dominated by Spain in first place, followed by Argentina in second position, France in third place, England in fourth position and Brazil in fifth place.

In the African top ten, Morocco leads with an 11th position worldwide, followed by Senegal in 19th place globally. Algeria ranks third in Africa and 34th worldwide, while Egypt is fourth with a 35th global ranking. Nigeria occupies fifth place in Africa and 38th worldwide, ahead of Tunisia, which is sixth and ranked 41st globally. Côte d’Ivoire sits in seventh position in Africa and 42nd worldwide, followed by Mali in eighth place with a 53rd global ranking. The Democratic Republic of Congo is ninth in Africa and 56th worldwide, while Cameroon completes the top ten with a 57th position globally.
