Abidjan, January 27, 2026 – The President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, reaffirmed Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to consolidating strong, sustainable, and inclusive growth. He was speaking on the occasion of the New Year’s greetings ceremony of the Diplomatic Community, held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Abidjan.

“Political stability is the indispensable foundation of economic and social transformation. It is on this basis that Côte d’Ivoire is launching this year the implementation of its National Development Plan (NDP 2026–2030), which aims to consolidate strong, sustainable, and inclusive growth, strengthen competitiveness, and improve the living conditions of the population,” Alassane Ouattara stated, inviting countries and institutions to fully contribute to the implementation of this plan.

The Head of State recalled the achievements made at the political, economic, and social levels, as well as Côte d’Ivoire’s notable return to the international stage. Economically, the country has maintained its growth momentum. This performance has helped consolidate macroeconomic balances, strengthen domestic resource mobilization, and preserve a stable and attractive economic environment. It has also supported the continuation of structural reforms aimed at improving the business climate and encouraging investment.

On the social front, government efforts have resulted in significant progress in access to education, vocational training, healthcare, drinking water, and electricity. They have also helped strengthen social protection programs and initiatives for the professional integration of young people and women. According to Alassane Ouattara, the government has continued to reinforce mechanisms for the prevention of and fight against terrorism in order to safeguard the security of the population and ensure an environment conducive to development.

On the international stage, Côte d’Ivoire, he emphasized, has continued its commitment to multilateralism, in which it firmly believes. All these initiatives demonstrate the country’s openness to the world and its determination to pursue economic development while protecting the environment.
