Socio-Economic Development Policies: “Strong Public Support Encourages Us to Do More,” Says President Alassane Ouattara
The strong support of Ivorian citizens for government policies and the country’s development ambitions encourages greater efforts to accelerate the implementation of programs and projects, improving living conditions more rapidly, declared President Alassane Ouattara.
He made these remarks on Wednesday, January 7, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau during the first Council of Ministers of the new year 2026.
“Our ambition for a greater Côte d’Ivoire must be reflected on the ground through effective, innovative, and sustainable actions,” stated Ouattara. While congratulating Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé and his government for their achievements, he reaffirmed his commitment to honoring the social contract with the population, which includes consolidating peace, security, national solidarity, and socio-economic development.
In his speech, the Prime Minister reviewed the government’s accomplishments over the past year. “The government has intensified the implementation of reforms and structural projects aimed at improving the living conditions of Ivorians while strengthening private investment and the country’s attractiveness,” he said.
He also highlighted that in 2025, the Head of State chaired 17 councils of ministers, following a total of 30 government meetings. “These sessions allowed the adoption of 26 bills, 13 draft ordinances, and 226 general measures under decrees of a major ministerial organization chart,” he added.
Regarding individual measures, the councils approved 125 items, including 27 communications, 19 ambassadorial appointments, and 74 ministerial appointment decrees.
Finally, President Alassane Ouattara promulgated 30 laws during the 2025 legislative session.
