Côte d’Ivoire has emerged as PlaYce’s largest African market, accounting for nearly 60% of the retail chain’s revenue across its operations in Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal during the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
The Ivorian subsidiary generated €11.91 million in revenue, up from €9.96 million a year earlier, according to financial information from PlaYce SAS reported by financial media. Combined revenue from the three African subsidiaries reached €19.94 million.
The increase in Côte d’Ivoire was accompanied by a sharp improvement in profitability. PlaYce RCI’s net profit rose from €604,471 in the previous financial year to €4.24 million as of March 31, 2026, equivalent to about 2.78 billion CFA francs.
PlaYce, a shopping-centre concept developed by CFAO Retail in partnership with Carrefour, operates in Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal. Its centres combine Carrefour stores with restaurants, shops and local and international brands.
In Côte d’Ivoire, the network currently comprises two centres in Abidjan, PlaYce Marcory and PlaYce Palmeraie.
The Ivorian subsidiary’s revenue increased by about 19.6% over the year, making the country the largest contributor among PlaYce’s three African markets.
Cameroon generated €7.45 million in revenue, up 3.8% from the previous year. However, its net profit fell 78% to €217,214.
In Senegal, revenue rose to €573,212 from €510,402, while net profit declined to €355,122.
The figures show contrasting performances across PlaYce’s African operations.
While Côte d’Ivoire recorded both higher revenue and significantly higher profit, Cameroon experienced revenue growth alongside a sharp decline in profitability. The available accounts do not provide enough detail to establish the precise reasons behind the changes in the subsidiaries’ expenses and net results.
The strong performance of the Ivorian business reinforces Abidjan’s importance to CFAO Retail’s expansion of modern retail formats in West Africa.
PlaYce says its model is designed around changing consumption patterns in African cities, combining modern retail, restaurants and commercial spaces around Carrefour stores.
For the financial year ended March 2026, Côte d’Ivoire therefore stands out not only as PlaYce’s largest African revenue market, but also as the subsidiary with the strongest improvement in reported profitability among the three markets.
