Côte d’Ivoire: World Bank presents $5.3 billion active portfolio in Abidjan

The World Bank Group’s active portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire includes 25 projects with a total value of $5.3 billion, the government said on Monday at the opening of the institution’s first open days in Abidjan.

The figure was presented by Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and government spokesman, representing Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Planning and Development and Côte d’Ivoire’s Governor to the World Bank Group.

The first edition of the World Bank Group’s open days is being held in Abidjan from Sept. 21 to 22, under the theme “Jobs and Opportunities: Building Together for Inclusive Growth.”

The event, organized by the World Bank Group and the Ivorian government, provides an opportunity for students, recent graduates and project developers to meet teams responsible for projects financed by the institution.

The World Bank Group also announced in July, during the Consultative Group meeting, a commitment of more than $17 billion over the coming years as part of the financing of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.
