Development of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan: The Government Launches Regional Consultations Nationwide

The Ivorian government, through the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, is organizing regional consultations from April 23 to 30, 2025, as part of the development of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan (PND). These meetings will be held across all 31 regions of the country.

Reflecting the government’s strong commitment to grounding public action in active and participatory citizen engagement, these sessions aim to:

  • Review the implementation of the 2021–2025 National Development Plan at the regional level;
  • Identify local potential and development opportunities to be leveraged;
  • Gather the needs, expectations, and aspirations of the population.

The consultations involve key actors in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public policies, including: minister-governors, prefects, elected officials, representatives of local governments, heads of decentralized state services, traditional and religious authorities, community leaders, rural sector operators, local private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and technical and financial partners.

The government is firmly committed to creating the conditions for sustainable, inclusive, environmentally conscious growth that generates jobs—particularly for young people and women. It places great importance on these consultations, which, according to officials, will help guide the next programmatic cycle by integrating concrete, sustainable, and locally relevant solutions to key challenges.

It is worth noting that the 2026–2030 National Development Plan aims to go even further in the economic and social transformation of the country, with the objective of elevating Côte d'Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income country.
