At the initiative of the Treasurer General of the Canada–Côte d’Ivoire Chamber of Commerce, Félix Edoh Kossi Amenounve, who also serves as President of the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM), Her Excellency Sandra Choufani, Ambassador of Canada to Côte d’Ivoire, had the honor on March 9 to ring the bell of the BRVM.

This highly symbolic moment took place as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of women’s economic empowerment and to recognize their decisive contribution to the development and transformation of economies.

By ringing the BRVM bell, the Ambassador made a strong statement in favor of a more inclusive economy, where women fully take their place in the financial, entrepreneurial, and decision-making spheres.

The event also illustrated the strength and quality of the cooperation between Canada and Côte d’Ivoire. It reflects the shared commitment of economic and diplomatic institutions to promote initiatives that foster equal opportunities, inclusion, and greater participation of women in economic growth.
