U.S. Ambassador Jessica Davis Ba Visits Construction Site of KOUMASSI Interchange

Her Excellency Jessica Davis Ba, U.S. Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, visited the ongoing construction site of the KOUMASSI interchange on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The visit included representatives from MCA-Côte d'Ivoire and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), led by Ms. Viviane Ado Gossan-Coulibaly, General Director of MCA-Côte d'Ivoire, and Mr. Keith Hackett, Deputy Country Director of the MCC.

The visit was conducted in two phases. The first phase involved a brief presentation by Ms. Viviane Ado Gossan-Coulibaly on the scope and progress of the project. She detailed the development of the construction site and the implementation of the project. The firm "ROAD," responsible for the construction, also presented the technical challenges encountered and the solutions applied to meet deadlines and quality standards.

In the second phase, Ambassador Jessica Davis Ba toured the construction site, observing the ongoing work and infrastructure development. She was guided through various sections of the site, interacting directly with engineers and workers to gather firsthand impressions of the project's progress and working conditions.

Ambassador Davis Ba expressed her satisfaction with the progress made and highlighted the significance of the interchange for improving urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion in Abidjan. She commended the collaboration between the Ivorian government, MCA-Côte d'Ivoire, and the MCC, which exemplifies the fruitful cooperation between the United States and Côte d'Ivoire.
