Jean Louis Billon, candidate for the 2025 presidential election, during his visit to Abengourou and Agnibilékro on July 1, 2025, denounced the accumulation of political positions and the hypocrisy toward the Head of State during his meeting with the local population.
“There are too many political actors who hold multiple positions. I think in terms of employment, but like this. It must stop. We must stop flattering the Head of State. When things are not going well, we must say so. There are politicians who are paid to do nothing,” he criticized.
In his address to the population, he advocated for a more equitable, transparent, and honest governance, where the truth about state management would be told.
According to him, Côte d’Ivoire needs profound change, with a new generation of competent, honest, and determined leaders, supported by the youth.
“I want change, and this is an opportunity we have. Currently, there are many political quarrels; we can end them simply at the ballot box, and I guarantee you stability, peace, national cohesion, and prosperity. As I told you, I started my tour here with you in the East because the sun rises in the East,” he stated.
Candidate Jean Louis Billon insisted on the importance of including all regions and on solidarity between the rich and the poor to ensure fair development of the country.
The former minister intends to position himself as the alternative to the current system, which he calls the “ADO Plan,” and calls for adopting the “Plan B,” embodied by himself, to relaunch Côte d’Ivoire.
“The time for a new sun for Côte d’Ivoire is coming. Keep in mind that Côte d’Ivoire needs today a Plan B, a new plan. It has been under a Plan A for a long time; it is under Plan A, which is the Ado Plan today. I ask you to change plan and adopt Plan B. When something doesn’t work, you change plan or move to Plan B. So move to Plan B, I am Plan B,” he suggested.
During his visit to Abengourou, Assalé De Vincy, representative of the local youth, praised his project and expressed the youth’s support. He highlighted major challenges faced by the youth: unemployment, difficulties accessing education, professional training, and entrepreneurial financing. He also stressed the need to improve infrastructure and create decent jobs to curb rural exodus.
“The youth of Abengourou declare themselves ready to support Jean Louis Billon for a better future and wish him good luck in his campaign,” he concluded.
The spokesperson for the population of Agnibilékro, Mr. Fétigué Bakary, expressed his gratitude to candidate Billon for the attention given to their region, rich in dynamism and culture.
According to him, this visit is seen as a strong sign of the candidate’s commitment to development, social justice, and empowerment. He revealed that expectations are high, especially regarding employment for the youth, who lack activities.
Furthermore, the population spokesperson emphasized that Billon is already a major employer in the country, rivaling the state. As such, the population sees him as a hope and declares itself ready to fully support him in the upcoming election.
He wished that this day would be marked by constructive exchanges and concrete commitments for the future of Djuablin.
