PDCI Launches Voter Sponsorship Operation Ahead of 2025 Presidential Election

The Democratic Party of Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI-RDA) officially launched its voter sponsorship operation on Friday, March 14, 2025, in preparation for the upcoming presidential election in October 2025. The ceremony took place at the party’s headquarters, Maison du Parti, in Cocody, with several party officials and militants in attendance, all mobilized to ensure the victory of their candidate, Tidjane Thiam.

During the event, the first volunteers received their sponsorship certificates, with the mission to bring their expertise in securing the election process. The sponsorship initiative was spearheaded by Jean Michel Amankou, the Member of Parliament for Agnibilékrou sub-prefecture. In his speech, Amankou expressed the party’s strong commitment to actively contribute to ensuring Thiam’s success. "We are fully engaged in this battle for Tidjane Thiam's victory in the October 2025 presidential election. This victory will help us understand the management of state power and ensure a better future for our country," he said.

Amankou emphasized the importance of the sponsorship operation for organizing the election. "We will do everything necessary to strengthen our structures and ensure that the various actors are effective on the ground. We will set up a management team and implement all necessary actions to secure our votes in the ballot boxes," he added.

The General Coordinator of PDCI-RDA, Noël Akossi Bendjo, reminded everyone that the primary goal of the initiative was not fundraising for Tidjane Thiam’s candidacy but strategic support for the party’s success. "It will be your responsibility to guide and provide work methods for the teams on the ground so they can efficiently cover the campaign’s challenges. Get yourselves battle-ready," he instructed.

Bendjo emphasized the significance of this election for the PDCI: "We cannot afford to lose this election. It is crucial that we win this battle because we aim to revolutionize this country through responsible and innovative governance," he said.

Dr. Emmou Sylvestre, the Executive Secretary of the PDCI, called on all militants to fully invest themselves in the voter sponsorship operation. "The party is counting on you. We want to see you in action because your commitment is essential for the victory of PDCI-RDA," he urged. He also praised the first volunteers engaged in the initiative, encouraging them to redouble their efforts to ensure a secure and transparent election.

Dr. Sylvestre also reminded everyone that the PDCI-RDA is an integral part of the Coalition for Peaceful Change, a coalition of over 25 political parties united for democratic change in 2025. He concluded by urging militants to remain vigilant: "Do not give in to distractions or diversions. Our mission is clear: unite our forces to secure PDCI’s victory in 2025."
