Presidential Election 2025: Billon Conquers Abobo

The Sogephia field in Abobo transformed into a sea of green and white on October 18, as thousands of young people, women, and adults gathered to cheer for Jean-Louis Billon, presidential candidate of the Democratic Congress (Code). He came to deliver his message of renewal for a new Côte d’Ivoire and a revitalized Abobo.

Under a blazing sun, the crowd chanted his name with remarkable enthusiasm, showing their rare passion for a candidate determined to win over Abobo. The atmosphere was electric — a real celebration. Artists such as Ramses Chikaya with his hit “Sika-bahoum”, Team de Poy with “Carlo mets-moi au dos”, and A Nous les Petits with “Amandjalo” set the stage on fire, mixing music, dance, and slogans in praise of the candidate. With every chorus, cheers erupted, fueling an unrelenting wave of excitement.

Among the many groups present, the Union of Billonist Women of Côte d’Ivoire (Ufbci) stood out with their message in Malinké: “Billon Ambikor,” meaning “Billon, we are with you.” This declaration of support reflected the women’s determination to accompany the businessman on his path to the presidency.

The Jean-Louis Billon Movement, as well as the Djimini community from the Autonomous District of Abidjan, also turned out in large numbers to express their support. Amid flags, placards bearing messages of hope, and songs of allegiance, Abobo found itself reflected in the words of a man who promised to turn the commune into a true center of progress.

And when the candidate took the microphone to share his vision for Abobo — the very place where he studied back in 1975 — the crowd’s excitement reached its peak. It was a moment of pure connection and belief in change.
