The Youth of the PPA-CI Commit to Laurent Gbagbo with the "Enough is Enough" Movement in Lakota

Lakota, June 22, 2025 – The Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) of the Youth League of the African Peoples' Party – Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Youth Center in Lakota, concluded with the reading of a motion in which the youth of the party reaffirmed their militant commitment to the party president, Laurent Gbagbo, by placing themselves at the forefront of the "Enough is Enough" movement that he launched.

The motion of the PPA-CI Youth League, read by the First Vice-President of this specialized body of the political entity, Mylène Amary Kacou, first emphasized that the "Enough is Enough" movement, initiated by Laurent Gbagbo, is far from being partisan. Rather, it stems from the silent suffering of millions of Ivorians and represents a platform for uniting struggles for social justice, peace, dignity, and popular sovereignty.

Through this motion, the youth of the PPA-CI reaffirmed their "full commitment" to this peaceful and cross-cutting movement, which they described as "a true rallying cry in the face of social exclusion, the high cost of living, precariousness, the confiscation of freedoms, and the authoritarian drift of the current regime." This demonstrates that the party's youth intend not just to symbolically support the movement, but to fully engage in it with determination.

The youth of the party aim to position themselves through "Enough is Enough" as the spokespersons of the excluded, the marginalized, and those who, in their view, are ignored by those in power. It is, for them, a way to assert a mission of social justice and popular representation.

In his opening remarks at the EGA, the interim president of the PPA-CI Youth League, Prince Arthur Dalli who is also Deputy Secretary-General of the party, Mayor of Lakota, and head of the local department called on the youth of his party to adopt a posture of lucid and constructive resistance.

For him, far from giving in to pressure or retreating into silence, the youth of the PPA-CI choose to organize, to educate themselves, and to rise in order to better confront political challenges. This, he said, is a message of resilience, discipline, and strategic empowerment.

"President GBAGBO has asked us to be ready. So let’s be ready! Ready to speak to the people. Ready to organize them. Ready to defend them. And above all, ready to march until victory!" declared Mr. Dalli.
