E-commerce: The Government Aims to Make Côte d'Ivoire a Regional Hub

As part of the implementation of the National Development Program (PND 2021-2025) and the National Digital Strategy in Côte d'Ivoire (SNNCI 2021-2025), the government has set an ambitious goal to make Côte d'Ivoire a regional hub for e-commerce. This vision was articulated during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Marabu consultancy firm, held on August 28-29, 2024, at the Palm Club Hotel in Abidjan-Cocody.

The workshop aimed to share the national strategic vision for the development of e-commerce, focusing on fostering a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystem.

"We are determined to make Côte d'Ivoire a regional hub in this rapidly expanding sector," stated Sylla Kalilou, Director General of External Trade, representing the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Souleymane Diarrassouba.

This ambition is driven by the growing interest of Ivorian consumers in online shopping, a trend that continues to accelerate with the proliferation of local and international e-commerce platforms, offering a wider variety of products and services.

"This sector, which is booming in our country, could achieve an annual growth rate of 11.3% for the period 2023-2027," Sylla Kalilou added
