The Jeunesse Club of Abidjan (JCA Kings) have officially booked their ticket to the Elite 16, marking a major milestone on their Road to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2026 — the new format of the African Men’s Clubs Championship.
On Sunday night, October 19, 2025, the Ivorian champions sealed their qualification with a decisive 76–47 victory over Liberia’s Oilers at the Palais des Sports in Treichville.
The Kings dominated every match of the weekend tournament. After defeating Ghana’s Spintex Knights (73–66) on Friday, they cruised past Benin’s Élan Coton (69–39) on Saturday before dismantling the Oilers to complete a flawless run in Group B.
With three straight wins, the Kings led by club president Adam Ismaël Cissé have proven themselves as the new rulers of Abidjan’s Palais des Sports. Their commanding performance not only thrilled home fans but also earned them a well-deserved qualification for the Elite 16, the next stage of the BAL 2026 campaign.
The Elite 16 will feature the continent’s top 16 teams. The finalists from both the West and East Divisions will secure the four remaining spots for the 2026 BAL season, joining powerhouse teams from Angola, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, and Tunisia.
