39th Ordinary Summit of the African Union: Tiémoko Meyliet Koné Carries Côte d’Ivoire’s Voice in Addis Ababa on the Water Challenge

The Vice-President of the Republic, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, left Abidjan this Thursday, February 12, 2026, for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will represent the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, at the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

Scheduled for February 14 and 15, 2026, this high-level continental meeting will focus on a crucial issue for the future of the continent: water.

Under the theme “Ensuring Sustainable Availability of Water and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063,” the Summit aims to position this vital resource as a strategic driver of development, public health, and stability.

On the sidelines of the official proceedings, Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné will hold meetings with several Heads of Delegation and other high-level personalities.
