The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has congratulated the people of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire for the peaceful conduct of the presidential election held on October 25, 2025.

“The calm and peaceful atmosphere widely observed across the country reflects the maturity and patriotism of the people and political class, as well as the effectiveness of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire’s institutions. Côte d’Ivoire remains a pillar of stability and a driver of development in the ECOWAS region,” the regional organization said in a statement published on Sunday, November 2.

While awaiting the Constitutional Council’s proclamation of the final results, ECOWAS called on all stakeholders to respect the law and resolve any disputes through legal channels.

ECOWAS also urged Ivorians to maintain the same spirit of patriotism and respect for the law under all circumstances, including during the upcoming legislative elections.

“As a community, ECOWAS remains committed to preserving peace and security in Côte d’Ivoire and throughout the region and will continue to support all efforts aimed at strengthening democracy and the rule of law within the ECOWAS space,” the statement concluded.
