As part of efforts to strengthen economic relations between Norway and Côte d’Ivoire, a delegation of Norwegian business operators is visiting Abidjan from April 12 to 19, 2026. The mission, focused particularly on agricultural value chains and the promotion of Fair Trade, aims to reinforce commercial cooperation between the two countries.

On this occasion, the Port Authority of Abidjan welcomed the delegation on April 14, 2026, to showcase its organizational structure, modern infrastructure, and efficient logistics system.

The delegation, led by Ingrid SKJOLAS, Vice Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Accra, and accompanied by Antoinette BOTTI, was received by Colonel COFFI Yao Emmanuel, Director of Maritime Operations, Safety and Environment (DOMSE) and Port Commander of Abidjan.

They were joined by Dr Titi PALÉ épouse KOUMAN, Hyacinthe MONI, and Jules KOUADIO.

Discussions highlighted the strategic role of the Port of Abidjan as a major West African maritime and logistics hub, supporting trade, transit, and transshipment activities. The talks also emphasized significant ongoing improvements, particularly in the digitalization of procedures aimed at streamlining operations, improving cargo traceability, and enhancing the port’s competitiveness.

Exchanges further addressed cocoa export mechanisms, a key sector of the Ivorian economy, as well as opportunities for collaboration within sustainable and responsible value chains.

The visit concluded with a tour of the port facilities, giving the delegation firsthand insight into the operational capacity, equipment level, and development potential of the Port of Abidjan an essential driver of foreign trade for Côte d’Ivoire.
