Following a visit to southeastern Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Tony Verheijen, Operations Manager for Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, and Guinea at the World Bank, expressed his satisfaction with the development of activities of the beneficiaries of the Value Chain Development Project (PDC2V).
The purpose of the visit by the representative of the Bretton Woods institution, the main funder of the project, was to assess the achievements financed by the Shared-Cost Fund (FCP). The field visit took him successively to Alépé, Aboisso, and Yaou, all located in southeastern Côte d’Ivoire.
In Alépé, the delegation visited Kré Maxime, a beneficiary of the FCP’s first cohort under Window B for the development of Nourivoire, a modern attiéké production unit called “Attiéké Choco.” Thanks to PDC2V financing, this unit acquired state-of-the-art equipment and currently produces 250 tons of attiéké for the local market and for export.
The World Bank representative then visited Poly Élevage in Aboisso, a company specializing in the production of fry and fish feed based on black soldier flies. Augustin Millan, the company’s operator, aims to produce 1.5 million fry by the end of 2025. He also manages fish growth and specialized training, with 10 above-ground tanks, 15 ponds (10 rehabilitated and 5 newly constructed), and a water retention system thanks to PDC2V support.
At the final stop in Yaou, the delegation visited Group Eroveem-FY, managed by Ezinlin Epse Yavo Bayo Euphrasie. This company, specializing in processing cassava into attiéké and placali, processed 545.9 tons of cassava between August 2024 and July 2025 (396.2 tons of attiéké and 149.6 tons of placali) and sells its products both nationally and internationally. World Bank financial support also enabled the company to modernize its equipment, including the acquisition of a generator, three presses, two grinders, a dryer, and the purchase of cassava. The delegation encouraged the company to aim for ISO certification.
At the end of the field visit, Tony Verheijen expressed the World Bank’s satisfaction to Mahamane Ouattara, representative of the PDC2V coordinator, as well as to the visited beneficiaries, regarding the tangible impact of the investments.
The mission will continue in Abengourou with visits to other beneficiaries of the Shared-Cost Fund and the Nursery Development Center located within the ERA-Est school (Eastern Regional School of Agriculture).
This financing mechanism, established by PDC2V, aims to support agricultural actors in professionalizing their activities.
