Genser Energy secures €456 million to expand its energy investments in West Africa
US-based energy company Genser Energy has secured €456 million, equivalent to about CFA 299 billion, to accelerate the development of its energy infrastructure across West Africa.
The financing, secured from RMB, Absa and Standard Bank, will support the company’s regional expansion and the completion of several ongoing energy projects, including in Côte d’Ivoire.
Genser Energy operates across several West African markets, developing power generation, natural gas processing and gas transportation infrastructure, particularly for industrial and mining customers.
In Côte d’Ivoire, the company is developing a thermal power plant project in Taboth. Its Ivorian subsidiary, Genser Energy Côte d’Ivoire Holding, owns Genser Energy Côte d’Ivoire and Genser Energy Taboth, the entity established to develop the project.
The new financing comes as Genser Energy expands its energy infrastructure in the region to meet rising electricity demand and support industrial activity.
Through the financing, the company aims to strengthen its presence in West Africa’s energy market and advance integrated infrastructure projects combining power generation, natural gas and gas transportation.
