Inclusive Growth: Côte d’Ivoire Secures Funding from AfDB and African Development Fund
The African Development Fund and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have granted Côte d’Ivoire CFA 6.389 billion and CFA 19 billion respectively to finance the Governance Support Project for Inclusive Growth.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Council of Ministers, held at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau, adopted two decrees ratifying loan agreements. The first, amounting to 8,330,000 Units of Account (approximately CFA 6.389 billion), was signed on January 20, 2026, between the African Development Fund and Côte d’Ivoire. The second loan agreement, totaling €29.192 million (just over CFA 19 billion), was signed on the same date between the African Development Bank and Côte d’Ivoire.
“The Governance Support Project for Inclusive Growth, covered by these two loan agreements, aims to build strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth through increased domestic resource mobilization and efficient public spending,” said government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly.
The project also includes strengthening the administration’s capacity in strategic planning, programming, and monitoring and evaluation of public policies, as well as actively integrating gender considerations into planning tools and public financial management, Amadou Coulibaly added.
