The Director General of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan (PAA), Mr. Kassoum Traoré, took part alongside the Minister of Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, Mr. Hien Yacouba Sié, in the 17th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF), held from June 10 to 12, 2026, in Macau, China.

This leading international event brought together government officials, investors, public decision-makers, and global experts to discuss key issues related to infrastructure financing, innovation, and the development of next-generation infrastructure systems.

On this occasion, the Director General of the PAA held multiple discussions with major industry stakeholders to explore cooperation opportunities and learn from best practices in port infrastructure, logistics, and transport systems.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Ivorian delegation carried out several technical site visits, including the expansion project of Macau International Airport developed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), as well as a modern tramway network built with the expertise of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). These visits provided valuable insights into innovative engineering solutions, mobility systems, and infrastructure development models.

The Director General also visited the exhibition area of the forum, where he explored the latest advancements presented by China Communications Construction Company (China Communications Construction Company) (CCCC) and Huawei, particularly in 3D modelling, smart construction, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and automated infrastructure management systems.

A working session with Huawei executives further explored potential cooperation in digital transformation and smart infrastructure applied to port and logistics sectors.

Through this mission, Mr. Traoré gained insights into high-performing infrastructure development models and identified potential partnerships aimed at supporting the modernisation of the Port of Abidjan and strengthening its competitiveness.

His participation in the IIICF reflects the commitment to positioning the Port of Abidjan as a leading logistics hub in West Africa, driven by innovation, digital transformation, and international best practices.
