The Minister of Finance and Budget, Adama Coulibaly, in his capacity as president of the Technical Consultation Committee (CTC), assured the private sector of the government's willingness to address all of its concerns. This was during a New Year’s greeting luncheon for private sector stakeholders, held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Abidjan-Plateau.
“The high profile of our country today is due to the private sector, with an investment rate more than doubling in the past ten years, from 8% to 19%,” expressed Adama Coulibaly with satisfaction.
He took the opportunity to stress that 2025, which marks the end of the 2021-2025 National Development Plan (PND), requires the continuation of the public-private dialogue to achieve development goals, particularly with the adoption of the new PND for 2026-2030.
Adama Coulibaly also reviewed the successes of the 2024 Sectoral Meetings. Among the highlights were the implementation of agreements signed by the government with mining operators and the extension of VAT credit repayment deadlines. The share of VAT revenues allocated to the fund dedicated to these reimbursements was increased by 2%, rising from 12% to 14%.
Moreover, he affirmed that the government has been continuously settling the debt owed to suppliers: “As of December 31, 2024, the total amount of payments made reached 558.91 billion FCFA, including 124.17 billion FCFA to 3,712 SMEs.”
For his part, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Souleymane Diarrassouba, the 1st Vice President of the CTC, stated that the dialogue between the government and the private sector is ongoing, fostering synergy. In this context, he revealed that actions taken against counterfeiting have led to the seizure of counterfeit products worth 4.5 billion FCFA.
The President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d'Ivoire (CGECI), Ahmed Cissé, also the 2nd Vice President of the CTC, expressed the private sector’s commitment to making Public-Private Dialogue an increasingly effective tool for both the state and businesses: “Together, we can continue laying the foundation for a dynamic, inclusive, and resilient economy.”
As President of the Employers' Organization, he congratulated the progress of decentralized sectoral consultations, particularly with the creation of Local Consultation Platforms in Bouaké, San Pedro, and Korhogo.
