Abidjan, August 21, 2024 – During her visit to Abidjan, Julieta Valls Noyes, the U.S. Deputy Secretary for Population, Refugees, and Migration, met with Wautabouna Ouattara, the Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the meeting was to express gratitude for Côte d'Ivoire’s generous reception of asylum seekers and its ongoing efforts to integrate refugees into society.

In their discussions, Noyes highlighted the United States’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with Côte d'Ivoire. This collaboration aims to ensure safe, orderly, and humane migration management through initiatives such as the Regional Migration Program in Africa.
