Côte d’Ivoire’s participation in the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings, held from October 21 to 26, 2024, resulted in the signing of two financing agreements. The agreements include one with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) fund for 39.3 billion FCFA and another with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) for 2.7 billion FCFA.

This information was presented during the Council of Ministers meeting on October 30, 2024, at the presidential palace in Abidjan-Plateau.

During the conference, where the Ivorian delegation was led by the Minister of Economy, Planning, and Development, Nialé Kaba, national economic achievements were commended by the IMF, the World Bank Group, and private sector representatives who recognized the significant progress made.

The meetings also provided an opportunity to review the country’s economic and financial program performance, the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF), and the recent roundtable on climate finance in Côte d'Ivoire.

Additionally, government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly noted that these sessions highlighted global economic resilience and Africa’s evolving role in the reform efforts within Bretton Woods Institutions, particularly with the creation of a third seat on the IMF’s Board of Directors.
