New Fuel Prices in Côte d'Ivoire for October 2024
The Ivorian government, through the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy, has announced the maximum retail prices for petroleum products applicable nationwide for the period from October 1 to October 31, 2024. This price revision primarily concerns unleaded gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), essential energy products for households and businesses.
For the month of October, the new prices are set as follows: unleaded gasoline at 875 FCFA per liter, kerosene at 745 FCFA per liter, and diesel at 715 FCFA per liter. These prices, established by the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons, take into account fluctuations in the international market and aim to maintain stability for Ivorian consumers while ensuring the continuous availability of these products.
Regarding LPG, which is used daily by many households, prices vary depending on the bottle capacity. The new prices are 2,000 FCFA for the 6 kg bottle, 5,200 FCFA for the 12.5 kg bottle, 6,965 FCFA for the 15 kg bottle, 8,125 FCFA for the 17.5 kg bottle, 11,610 FCFA for the 25 kg bottle, and 13,000 FCFA for the 28 kg bottle. These adjustments consider the growing demand for clean energy for cooking, contributing to a reduction in the use of wood and charcoal, which are less environmentally friendly fuels.
The Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy requires that these prices be clearly displayed at all fuel and LPG sales points, under penalty of sanctions. This measure ensures transparency and protects consumers from any attempts at speculation or abuse.
It is important to note that the prices of petroleum products are communicated at the beginning of each month by the responsible ministry.
