This week, a delegation from the Dutch Embassy visited the Regional Academy of Maritime Science and Technology (ARSTM). According to official sources, members of the delegation were highly impressed by the quality of academic programs, innovative projects, and cutting-edge technologies offered by the institution.
"The ARSTM exemplifies a model of regional cooperation and knowledge transfer, playing a crucial role in strengthening maritime capacities in the region. Congratulations to the students, teachers, and researchers for their commitment," they remarked.
The ARSTM serves as the regional institution for maritime and industrial training, catering to fifteen French-speaking countries in West and Central Africa. As a specialized agency of the Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa (OMAOC), ARSTM oversees training for twenty-five countries, spanning from Mauritania to Angola.
Built by Côte d'Ivoire with support from its partners, ARSTM was established with an investment of approximately $30 million (16 billion FCFA) and occupies a 33-hectare site. The headquarters agreement signed with Côte d'Ivoire grants it diplomatic status.
The ARSTM comprises four distinct entities: two higher education schools, a vocational training college, a Strategic Training Institute, and a research center.
