Dutch Embassy Participates in Beach Cleanup at Grand Bassam

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands actively participated in a beach cleanup initiative held in Grand Bassam. The event was organized by the European Union delegation in Côte d'Ivoire as part of its environmental efforts to combat plastic pollution.

Alongside representatives from various European embassies, the Mayor of Grand Bassam's representative, the Green Ivory NGO, and several enthusiastic young volunteers, the team aimed to collect as much plastic waste as possible from the beach. This collective action emphasized the importance of environmental preservation and reducing marine pollution.

In addition, BIR Côte d'Ivoire, an organization specializing in plastic recycling, was also present. They ensured that the collected plastic waste would be repurposed into new products, contributing to a circular economy.

This event not only helped clean the beach but also raised awareness about environmental issues, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts to address global challenges like plastic pollution.
