Jean-Louis Billon Officially Declares Candidacy for Côte d'Ivoire's 2025 Presidential Election

Exactly one year ahead of Côte d'Ivoire’s 2025 Presidential Election, Jean-Louis Billon has officially declared his candidacy, affirming his commitment to the race. "In 2025, I will be present; you can count on me," he announced, signaling a pivotal year for both the country and the PDCI-RDA party.

In a gathering with party members and supporters, Billon addressed a crowd on October 25, 2024, laying out his vision for Côte d'Ivoire's future and urging the PDCI-RDA to rise to the occasion. “One year from now, Côte d'Ivoire will face a decisive moment as it chooses its next Head of State. This democratic event will be crucial for our country, especially for the PDCI-RDA,” he stated, emphasizing the party’s need for responsibility and unity.

Billon highlighted the legacy of the PDCI-RDA and its former leaders, Presidents Felix Houphouët-Boigny and Henri Konan Bédié. He called for a political bureau meeting and a 13th party congress, followed by a convention to select the candidate most likely to lead the PDCI-RDA to victory. Stressing a desire for a free, fair, and transparent convention, Billon appealed for a process free from favoritism, violence, and tribalism.

Thanking party supporters, he recognized the efforts of those who have fought to keep the PDCI-RDA alive, ensuring the survival of the legacy left by past leaders. “2025 is a crucial moment for our country. The stakes are high, and we must be rigorous in choosing candidates for the highest office. I love my country. In 2025, I will be there; you can count on me,” Billon affirmed.

Declaring his candidacy, Billon pledged to lead Côte d'Ivoire toward a prosperous future. He invited all Ivorians to join him in building a national vision—one that reflects their shared love for Côte d'Ivoire. "In 2025, Côte d'Ivoire will face its destiny, and I will be there. Thank you."
