“The Hamburg Conference on Sustainable Development (HSC 2024), which I had the honor of representing the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, from October 7 to 8, allowed us to elevate Côte d'Ivoire's voice in terms of green energy and sustainable development while highlighting the attractiveness of our business environment,” stated the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, Dr. Robert Beugré Mambé, in a communication today, October 10, 2024.

The announcement specifies that the head of the Ivorian Government highlighted Côte d'Ivoire's initiatives in green energy. “Alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other world leaders, Côte d'Ivoire's efforts have been emphasized, particularly the ambition to achieve 40% renewable energy by 2030,” he affirmed.

According to the statement, there was also discussion about the urgent need to adopt a new international financing mechanism capable of supporting infrastructure, job creation, and the fight against climate change in Africa. In this regard, the representative of President Ouattara drew attention to the impact of climate change on Africa. “Our continent, despite its low greenhouse gas emissions, is suffering the consequences of others,” he emphasized, before noting the fruitful exchanges with prominent figures such as Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF, Sima Sami Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, and Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, which helped to strengthen cooperation on various themes.
