Ambassador Matthias Veltin Opens the 2nd International Agrofood and Plastics Fair in Côte d'Ivoire

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Ambassador Matthias Veltin took part in the opening of the second edition of the International Agrofood, Plastics, Printing, and Packaging Fair, held in Côte d’Ivoire for West Africa. This prestigious event gathered representatives from 17 countries and over 40 companies, showcasing Côte d'Ivoire's growing importance as a hub for local, regional, and international investors in the agrofood and packaging sectors.

During his visit, Ambassador Veltin toured various booths, including those of six German exhibitors, and expressed his optimism about a third edition of the West Africa Agrofood and West Africa Plastprintpack fair. He praised the growing cooperation and emphasized the significant role Côte d’Ivoire plays as Germany’s third-largest trading partner in West Africa.

Organized by the German trade fair specialist Fairtrade Messe, in partnership with Ivorian company 2A Consulting, the event is held at the Parc des Expositions and will run until Thursday, October 10. The exhibition provides a platform for participants to explore opportunities in agrofood, plastics, printing, and packaging industries, fostering deeper collaborations and strengthening Côte d'Ivoire's position as a key player in these sectors.

Ambassador Veltin highlighted that the event would contribute to further enhancing the excellent cooperation between Germany and Côte d'Ivoire, a relationship built on strong bilateral trade ties.

With a diverse range of exhibitors and participants, this international fair is expected to further solidify Côte d'Ivoire’s role as an attractive destination for investments, promoting economic growth and industrial development in the region.
